Salahaddin, Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRP.org) – Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani today met with Iraqi ministers and members of parliament from the Kurdistan Region to consider a response to a letter from Mr. Ibrahim al- Jaffari, leader of National Iraqi Alliance (NIA).

Today’s meeting described the letter from Mr. al-Jaffari as positive and decided to send a high-level delegation to Baghdad for talks with the leaders of NIA and the Iraqi federal government. The aim of the visit will be to reach a comprehensive solution on the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, and to agree on a mechanism for national consensus, partnership, and power-sharing based on the constitution.
