Prime Minister Masrour Barzani receives US-Kurdistan Business Council delegation
Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received a delegation from the United States-Kurdistan Business Council (USKBC), led by its President, David Tafuri.
David Tafuri congratulated the Kurdistan Region for holding a successful and democratic parliamentary elections last month. He reiterated the USKBC mission to support and promote greater American investment in the Kurdistan Region He also highlighted the Kurdistan Region’s strategic importance in Iraq and the wider Middle East.
They also discussed developments in the region, including Erbil-Baghdad relations. Prime Minister Barzani outlined the Kurdistan Regional Government’s reforms agenda, particularly the digitalization of public services and advancements in the banking system through the MyAccount project. The Prime Minister emphasized the KRG’s commitment to facilitating investment and creating a business-friendly environment for investors.
The Prime Minister also addressed the need to restart oil exports from the Kurdistan Region, underlining the significant financial losses to Iraq’s national budget due to its halt.
