Kurdish civil rights activist arrested in Marivan

The officers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' intelligence raided the home of the family of civil rights activist Aram Fathi, at his house on the morning of 17 June and have taken him to an undisclosed location, Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) reported.

“This morning, security officers have gone to Aram Fathi’s house in two cars and have claimed that they had an arrest warrant”, a relative of the poet told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

The relative added that after searching the house, the officers have confiscated Fathi’s personal belongings, including his laptop, mobile phone, and books.

Aram Fathi is a poet and former student activist at Payam Nur Marivan University and an active member of the Rumi and Vezhin literary societies in Marivan. He has been summoned and interrogated several times by the security forces over the past few years.
