Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has extended his warmest New Year wishes to the people of the Kurdistan Region and all Kurds worldwide, expressing hope for a prosperous and peaceful 2025.

In his message, Prime Minister Barzani acknowledged the resilience and steadfastness of the Kurdistan Region’s citizens, who endured another year of financial hardship due to the Iraqi federal government’s withholding of the region’s rightful financial entitlements and public employees’ salaries. Despite these challenges, he praised the people’s strength and patience, describing their endurance as remarkable.

“The Kurdistan Regional Government has fulfilled all its obligations,” Prime Minister Barzani emphasized, calling for a fundamental resolution to this ongoing issue in the coming year.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of political unity, urging political parties in the Kurdistan Region to conclude discussions and finalize an agreement on forming a new, strong, and inclusive government. He stressed that such a government must rise to current and future challenges while ensuring equal service to all communities within the region.
