Dr. Barzani, who holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a doctorate from the Sorbonne University in France, has now been awarded an honorary professorship and doctorate for the second time by an Italian academic institution. A member of the Barzani family, Dr. Seywan Sabir Barzani is the grandson of the late Kurdish leader Mustafa Barzani. With decades of experience in diplomacy, he has served in numerous high-profile roles, including as the representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Paris, France, and as the representative of the Kurdistan Region in Paris. He has also held the position of Iraqi federal ambassador to Italy, the Netherlands, and Portugal. Currently, he continues his diplomatic service as the Iraqi ambassador to Rome, Italy, as well as to San Marino and Malta.
