Key Foundations for Success
The President outlined several critical foundations for the success of the Development Road Project and Iraq’s broader stability:
A Stable Legal and Economic Framework: To encourage domestic and foreign investment by providing an attractive and secure environment for investors.
Responsible Political Dialogue: Among Iraq’s political parties and components, based on genuine partnership and a shared national vision.
Robust Security Strategy: To ensure sustained stability and foster confidence among investors, enabling the execution of major infrastructure projects.
Iraq’s Strategic Potential
Barzani highlighted Iraq’s strategic geographic location and rich natural and human resources as key assets that position the country to become a vibrant economic hub in the region. He noted that Iraq has the potential to serve as a vital bridge connecting the Gulf, Europe, the East, and the West.
“Iraq’s cultural diversity is a strength and wealth,” he said. “This project can be an opportunity to transcend all differences and strengthen Iraq’s economic, political, and strategic position.”
A Call for Unity and Cooperation
The President underscored the importance of unity and cooperation in overcoming Iraq’s challenges. He emphasized that Iraq’s stability is inseparable from the stability of the region and called for a balanced and fair approach to geopolitical changes.
“Our past has taught us that growth and progress thrive in a stable environment,” Barzani said. “We must continue to pursue effective diplomacy and strengthen our relations with regional and international partners.”
Gratitude and Hope for the Future
President Barzani expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Al-Sudani for his efforts in advancing Iraq’s stability and development. He also thanked the Iraqi Institute for organizing the conference and wished them success in their endeavors.
