Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met yesterday with Dr. Mohamed Al Hassan, UN Special Representative to the Secretary-General for Iraq and Head of UNAMI.

They discussed the situation in Iraq and the region, including developments and challenges in Syria.

They both agreed on the importance of maintaining security and stability in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and avoid escalations and tensions in the region.

Regarding Syria, they emphasized the need to protect and respect the rights of all communities, particularly the Kurdish people.

They also reiterated the need to resolve outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government and ensure the constitutional rights and financial entitlements of the people of the Kurdistan Region.
