Kurdistan Region Debuts Local Food Products at Prestigious Trade Fair in France
The Kurdistan Region Government's (KRG) Investment Board marked a significant milestone by participating in the renowned Food Trade Fair in France, where Kurdish food products were prominently featured for the first time.
Six local companies from the Kurdistan Region, in collaboration with the Investment Board, showcased their food industry products to an international audience at the Paris-based fair, according to a report by Kurdistan 24. The biennial Food Trade Fair is one of the largest exhibitions in the global food industry, drawing over 7,500 companies from 130 countries, and serves as a hub for networking, product displays, and potential partnerships.
The KRG Investment Board highlighted the importance of Kurdish participation, stressing that the event offers an unparalleled opportunity for local products to gain exposure in international markets. “The fair provides a unique opportunity for Kurdish companies to engage with global producers, establish connections, and secure agreements that could enhance the region’s food industry,” the board said in a statement.
With a 60-year history, the Food Trade Fair attracts tens of thousands of visitors, providing companies with a critical platform to introduce their products to a global audience. The KRG's participation is expected to drive growth in the Kurdistan Region’s food industry through expanded international trade.
