Kurdistan Regional Government Approves New Service Projects in Sulaymaniyah

The Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism in the Kurdistan Regional Government has announced its approval of a series of service projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and public amenities across Sulaymaniyah province and its surrounding areas.

In a statement released today, the ministry outlined the allocation of funds for several key projects, which include improvements in the tourism, municipal, and water sectors. The approved projects are as follows:

Tourism Enhancements: 39.16 million Dinars have been allocated for the installation of concrete tables and chairs in the Qaradagh tourist areas, along with an additional 17.9 million Dinars for similar installations in the Dukan tourist areas.

Road and Infrastructure Development: A significant 138.31 million Dinars will be invested in rehabilitating and expanding the road connecting Sulaymaniyah to Kirkuk, particularly the stretch leading to the Kopala Municipality. Furthermore, 24.75 million Dinars have been designated for the construction of fences and stairs along the banks of the Dukan River.

Water Supply Improvements: Several neighborhoods will benefit from water supply upgrades, including 16.46 million Dinars for new water pipes in the Roshanbiran neighborhood in the Zrayin subdistrict and 26.21 million Dinars for water pipe installations in the Wuloba neighborhood on the Sulaymaniyah-Arbat road. Additionally, 5.75 million Dinars have been allocated to address water shortages in the Qazi Muhammad neighborhood by replacing outdated pipes.

Municipal Enhancements: The ministry has earmarked 336.07 million Dinars to organize the collection of water fees in Sulaymaniyah and its surrounding areas. Another 68.32 million Dinars will be used to supply gas, gasoline, and oil for vehicles and equipment for the Sulaymaniyah Water Directorate.

Community and Recreation Projects: 10.37 million Dinars have been approved for expanding the volleyball court in the Khalkan subdistrict, while 3.15 million Dinars will be spent on constructing a fence around the elevated water tank in Qarqol, Zrayin.

These projects, which total over 670 million Dinars, are part of the regional government's ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life in Sulaymaniyah and its neighboring districts. The Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism emphasized the importance of these developments in supporting the region’s growth and sustainability.
