PM Masrour Barzani Drives Major Development Initiatives in Halabja and Beyond: A Look at the Ninth Cabinet's Impact

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has launched a series of critical development projects in Halabja Province, further solidifying the ninth cabinet’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure, public services, and overall governance across the Kurdistan Region.

New Projects in Halabja Province

In a recent announcement, Kawa Ali Karim, Deputy Governor of Halabja, confirmed that the Prime Minister has approved three significant service projects for the province:

Sewage and Road Repair in Halabja: The project will address the long-standing issue of inadequate sewage systems and repair the road in front of Halabja Hospital, which was severely damaged by recent floods. This initiative aims to improve public health and transportation safety.

Construction of the Directorate of Agriculture Building: To bolster the agricultural sector, a new building for the General Directorate of Agriculture will be constructed. This will provide a modern facility for the administration of agricultural policies and support to local farmers.

Shahid Sarkar Police Station: The construction of a new police station will enhance law enforcement capabilities in Halabja, improving security and safety for residents.

These projects are part of a broader strategic vision set forth by PM Barzani during his tenure in the ninth cabinet, focusing on sustainable development and responsive governance.

PM Barzani's June 2024 Visit: A Catalyst for Regional Development
The recent approval of these projects follows a crucial visit by Prime Minister Barzani to the provinces of Sulaymaniyah and Halabja on June 30, 2024. During this visit, Barzani laid the foundation stone for a new grain silo in Halabja, a project expected to significantly boost the region's agricultural storage capacity. The visit also included meetings with local officials and citizens, during which Barzani listened to concerns and suggestions, demonstrating his hands-on approach to governance.

Ninth Cabinet's Broader Vision: Governance and Growth

Since assuming office, Prime Minister Barzani has emphasized the importance of good governance, economic development, and social equity. His administration has been proactive in addressing long-standing issues, from employment and infrastructure to public health and education.

The ninth cabinet’s efforts have been particularly focused on decentralization, granting more authority and resources to local administrations to ensure that development is responsive to the unique needs of each region. This approach has allowed for more targeted and effective governance, with tangible benefits for communities across Kurdistan.

Looking Ahead: Continued Commitment to Development

Prime Minister Barzani’s leadership is characterized by a clear vision for a prosperous, stable, and inclusive Kurdistan, where all citizens have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
