Kurdistan Region Receives $500,000 in Medical Aid from Saudi Arabia

Erbil, Kurdistan Region – The Kurdistan Region of Iraq has received a shipment of medical aid valued at approximately $500,000 from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to a statement made by Minister of Health, Saman Barzangi, on Saturday.

During a joint press conference held in Erbil with the Saudi Consul, Barzangi announced that the aid, provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, includes 5 tons of essential medicines and medical supplies. This assistance was delivered through the Saudi Consulate in Erbil.

Minister Barzangi expressed his profound gratitude to Saudi Arabia for the ongoing support, noting that this shipment is part of a series of aid initiatives that the Kingdom has provided to the Kurdistan Ministry of Health over the past few years. Previous aid has included various medical devices and supplies aimed at strengthening the region's healthcare infrastructure.

Looking ahead, Barzangi revealed that Saudi Arabia is planning to deliver additional strategic equipment worth $4 million to the Kurdistan Region's health sector in the near future.

In his remarks, the head of the medical aid delivery team from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to supporting the Kurdistan Region's healthcare system, expressing hope that the aid will have a significant positive impact on public health in the region.
