KDP Assigned Number 190 for Kurdistan Region Parliament Election

In preparation for the upcoming Kurdistan Region Parliament elections, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has been assigned the number 190 for their election list. This assignment was determined through a draw conducted by the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) on Saturday, August 10, in Erbil. The draw was held to allocate numbers to the various coalitions, parties, and candidates participating in the elections.

According to IHEC regulations, each list participating in the Kurdistan Parliament elections is allowed to include up to twice the number of candidates as there are seats available in each province. The KDP will be fielding 190 candidates for this election, corresponding to their assigned list number.

The upcoming elections are scheduled for October 20, 2024. A total of 95 seats in the Kurdistan Parliament will be distributed among the provinces as follows: Erbil will have 32 seats, Sulaymaniyah will have 36 seats, Duhok will have 24 seats, and Halabja will have 3 seats.

In addition to the general seat allocation, quota seats have also been designated. Erbil and Sulaymaniyah will each receive 2 quota seats, Duhok will receive 1 quota seat, and Halabja will not receive any quota seats.

This number assignment follows a previous draw that allocated 69 numbers for the general seats in the Kurdistan Parliament. The assignment of numbers is an important step in the electoral process, as it helps voters identify the parties and candidates on the ballot.
