Kurdistan Region's Ninth Cabinet Advances Infrastructural Development in Akre with Major Projects

The Kurdistan Region's ninth cabinet continues its commitment to infrastructural development, with eight major projects underway in Akre, totaling over 10 billion dinars.

Bilind Reza, Mayor of Akre, disclosed that these projects amount to 10 billion and 338 million dinars. Five of these projects are part of the Duhok Governorate's budget, costing 8 billion dinars, while the remaining three fall under the Ministry of Municipalities with a budget of 2 billion and 300 million dinars.

In an interview with Kurdistan 24, Mayor Reza highlighted the extensive scope of these initiatives: “There are 25 old neighborhoods in Akre and 22 villages within the district. We plan to provide basic services in two phases. The first phase includes streets, schools, and mosques, while the second phase will focus on secondary services.”

Reflecting on previous accomplishments, Reza noted, “In 2023, we completed four projects within Duhok Governorate's special budget, amounting to two billion and 132 million dinars.”

Looking ahead, Reza added, “There are six additional projects under the Ministry of Municipalities’ budget, costing two billion and 800 million dinars. These projects are currently under review in Duhok Governorate, with implementation set to begin soon.”

These projects are part of a broader strategy by the Kurdistan Regional Government to enhance infrastructure and provide essential services across the region, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to development and improvement of living standards.
