Duhok Exports Nearly 130,000 Tons of Local Produce to Iraqi Provinces

The General Director of Agriculture in Duhok, Ahmed Jamil, announced today that approximately 130,000 tons of local agricultural products have been exported to various Iraqi provinces since the beginning of this year.

"Since January 1st until today, we have exported 129,647 tons of local products from Duhok to southern and central Iraq," Jamil told Kurdistan24.

Jamil noted that the increase in exports has positively impacted local farmers, leading many to invest more in agriculture. "No farmer in Duhok has suffered losses over the past two years," he said.

The most in-demand products include potatoes, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and strawberries. Additionally, cherries, apples, peaches, mulberries, and watermelons are among the other crops being exported.

The agricultural sector in Duhok continues to thrive, contributing significantly to the local economy and meeting the demand in other parts of Iraq.
