In response to recent Turkish military incursions in the joint border areas, the Iraqi Ministerial Council for National Security convened a crucial meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. Yehia Rasool, spokesperson for the Iraqi Commander-in-Chief, announced the council's firm condemnation of the Turkish army's invasion and military violations on Iraqi soil.

The council emphasized the importance of maintaining good neighborly relations and urged Turkey to address any security concerns through diplomatic channels with the Iraqi government. Prime Minister al-Sudani underscored Iraq's commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and highlighted the necessity of a measured and unified response to the violations.

To further address the situation, Prime Minister al-Sudani appointed a delegation led by the National Security Advisor to visit the Kurdistan Region. The delegation's mission is to assess the situation on the ground and formulate a comprehensive response to the incursions, reinforcing Iraq's stance on protecting its territorial integrity.

The Iraqi Ministerial Council for National Security also called on all parties to support the government's position, in accordance with the constitution. The government reaffirmed its opposition to any attacks on its territory and strictly prohibited the use of Iraqi land for launching assaults on neighboring countries.
