President Nechirvan Barzani welcomed the new Ambassador of Qatar to Iraq, Sultan bin Mubarak Al-Kubaisi, during their meeting in Erbil on Tuesday. The President wished the incoming Ambassador success in his tenure, and praised the long standing ties between Qatar, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region. while also emphasizing the strong potential to further develop relations and enhance cooperation.

Ambassador Al-Kubaisi, for his part, conveyed his pleasure in assuming his position in Iraq. He emphasized that Qatar welcomes the opportunity to foster closer relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in the investment, economic, and cultural sectors, as well as in other areas.
