This marks the first instance of American military personnel losing their lives since the onset of the Hamas-Israel war in October last year, following a series of near-daily drone and missile attacks on US troops in the Middle East.
In response to the attack, President Biden, speaking at a South Carolina church banquet center, asserted, "We shall respond."
The recent incident follows more than 150 attacks on US troops in Iraq and Syria, prompting the United States to retaliate with strikes against Iranian-backed militias. These retaliatory actions have resulted in casualties among top militia commanders.
The situation is evolving rapidly, and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
