President Nechirvan Barzani held a meeting with Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in Baghdad on Saturday afternoon.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the current political and security situation in Iraq, as well as the latest developments in the region. They also emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, stability and national sovereignty, while keeping Iraq free from any regional conflicts.

Furthermore, the meeting focused on the efforts made by both the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government of Iraq to address various issues, including the budget, salaries, oil exports, and other administrative matters related to finance and the economy.

Both sides agreed that these issues should be resolved in accordance with the Constitution, ensuring that the citizens of the Kurdistan Region are not negatively affected. The President emphasized the need for a definitive solution regarding the salaries of employees in the Kurdistan Region, separate from any other matters.

Additionally, the meeting covered other topics of mutual interest, further strengthening the dialogue and cooperation between the two parties.
