Kurdistan Region Council of Ministers Welcomes Decision on Agricultural Lands for Kurdish and Turkmen Farmers in Kirkuk

The Kurdistan Region Council of Ministers met on Wednesday and discussed a number of issues, including the approval of the Federal General Budget Law, the activation of the Committee for the Implementation of Article 140 of the Constitution, and the prevention of hemorrhagic fever.
On the budget, the Prime Minister highlighted that the Kurdistan Region has fulfilled all its duties and responsibilities based on the constitution and the signed agreements, but that issues related to rights and financial entitlements have been tampered with. The Council of Ministers called on the federal government to review the items that were amended in the budget and to set appropriate mechanisms with the aim of disbursing the region's dues.
On Article 140, the Council of Ministers welcomed the decision to reactivate the Committee for the Implementation of Article 140 of the Constitution and praised the last letter sent by the Committee to the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture to cancel the decision to extinguish the disposal rights on the agricultural lands of the Kurds and Turkmens. The Council of Ministers directed the ministerial committee concerned with following up the implementation of Article 140 of the Constitution to hold the necessary meetings and to immediately follow up on the decisions of the Iraqi Council of Ministers and the Federal Committee on the implementation of Article 140.
On hemorrhagic fever, the Acting Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources and the Minister of Health presented two separate reports on preventive measures and safety measures for citizens during the slaughter of sacrificial animals. The Council of Ministers praised the preventive measures taken by the two ministries and called on the citizens of the Kurdistan Region to abide by the preventive instructions and guidelines.

The Council of Ministers concluded its meeting by calling on the citizens of the Kurdistan Region to abide by the preventive instructions and guidelines, especially when slaughtering the Eid sacrifices, in order to preserve their safety and health.
