President Barzani attends international conference on Faili Kurd genocide in Erbil
President Masoud Barzani participated in an international conference on Sunday to commemorate the genocide against Faili Kurds. During the event, President Barzani emphasized that Faili Kurds are an integral part of the Kurdish nation and called for recognition of their place in history.
The conference, held in Erbil, marked the anniversary of the massacre of Faili Kurds, which took place between 1980 and 1988 under the regime of Saddam Hussein. Tens of thousands of Faili Kurds were killed or forcibly expelled from their homes during this period.
In a tweet following the event, President Barzani expressed his condolences to the families of those who were lost, and prayed for their souls to rest in peace.
