Kurdistan Regional Ministry of Interior Calls for Cooperation to Control Weapons and Armed Phenomena
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) takes action to reduce the use of weapons in the region. The Ministry of Interior has issued a letter, numbered 10338, calling for cooperation and coordination from licensed political parties and forces in Kurdistan to control weapons and armed phenomena. The move is seen as a significant step towards creating a safer society for all.
In a statement, issued in Kurdish language on Tuesday, the Interior Minister urged political forces and parties to use their media to raise awareness among their members and citizens about the need to avoid weapons in homes and the use of illegal weapons.
The Ministry also clarified that no political party has been allowed to distribute weapons as gifts to its members or supporters on any occasion, and they can build warehouses in their headquarters to ensure that the guards do not take weapons home after work.
These steps are expected to help create a safer environment for Kurdish society by controlling weapons and reducing the incidence of armed conflict, which will ultimately lead to a decrease in crime and violence, benefiting the lives of citizens.
The KRG's efforts to control the use of weapons in the region are commendable and will go a long way in promoting peace and stability. This move is likely to be welcomed by citizens who have long suffered from the consequences of armed conflict.
