Iraq approves increasing support for Lebanon with crude oil
The Iraqi government approves of Lebanon's support with crude oil and increases this support to one million tons at a time when Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi expresses his displeasure at the scenes of Lebanese queues waiting in front of gas stations.
The Iraqi government approved subsidizing Lebanon with crude oil and increasing this support from 500 thousand tons to one million tons.
"The decision must be implemented as quickly as possible, because of the urgent need for this support to brotherly Lebanon, because it is going through extraordinary circumstances," government spokesman and Culture Minister Hassan Nazim said in a press conference in Baghdad.
Lebanon has witnessed a severe economic collapse since late 2019, which witnessed a popular explosion caused by the difficult economic and living situation, and the gradual decline in the exchange rate of the Lebanese pound against the dollar.
