KRG allocates 25$ million to Syrian refugees in Kurdistan
The Kurdistan regional Government allocated 25 million USD to provide the necessary needs for Syrian refugees in Kurdistan region, media reports.

In a statement the Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani, instructed to allocate 25 million USD to provide the basic needs for Syrian refuges in the region.

In recent days, about 30,000 Syrian Kurds, seeking to escape persecution at the hands of Jihadists, have been crossing the border into the autonomous Kurdish area of northern Iraq.

Another 4,000 made the trek across the frontier Tuesday, said Youssef Mahmoud, a spokesman for the UNHCR in Iraqi Kurdistan.

Some 55,000 Syrians already live at the Domiz refugee camp in Dohuk, west of Irbil, according to the UNHCR.
