Numbers of law makers described President Barzani’s visit to Baghdad as a positive move that opens door for future cooperation and peaceful coexistence between Erbil and Baghdad governments.

Member of the Kurdistan Alliance Bloc, Ashwaq Jaff described the visit conducted by Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani to Baghdad as positive.

“President Barzani‘s visit contributed in bridging the gap between the two sides” Ashwaq al- Jaff, Lawmaker in the Iraqi Parliament from the Kurdistan Alliance Bloc said.

She also pointed that the Kurdistan Alliance Bloc is working with other political blocs in the Parliament in order to ratify laws that serve the citizens.

Mahmud Osman, another member of Kurdistan Alliance Bloc described the visit as positive.

“Current problems will be solved through cooperation and unification”, and President Barzani’s visit to Baghdad was a step to accomplish peace and mutual understanding between Erbil and Baghdad governments, Osman said in a press interview.

Kurdistan President Barzani and his delegation visited Baghdad on July 7, 2013 to hold meetings with Prime Minister Maliki and numbers of other officials. They discussed Erbil-Baghdad disputes and recent events in the region.
