Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister of the KRG Council of Ministers, today May 30, 2013, visited Suliamani and held meetings with some governmental organizations.

On his meeting with those who work on the project of making Sulaimani as the cultural capital of the Kurdistan Region, he showed his full support for developing the project.

He said that Sulaimani deserves to be the cultural capital of the region, and the KRG will do its best for moving the project ahead.

The KRG Council of Ministers has decided for recognizing Sulaimani as the cultural capital of the region, and the parliament has accepted the project.

Barzani has also urged establishing different cultural institutions in the city, in which the Kurdish cultural and historical equipments will be stored.

Sulaimani is besides of that a city to which many tourists always travel and stay in from different places of the world.

Establishing different cultural organizations, as part of making the city the cultural capital of the region, will be a way through which foreigners who visit Sulaimani can be familiar with the cultural and historical paraphernalia of the Kurdish society.
