Al-Iraqiya list reveals assassination attempt to Allawi in Baghdad
The Spokeswoman of the opposition bloc, Maison Al-Damloji, said in a statement that the list received confirmed information on a new plot to assassinate Allawi by shelling his home and office inBaghdadand she pointed out that the list provided security authorities with the information received, accusing but not naming countries behind the attempt.
She added that the attack comes in a series of failed assassination attempts previously targeted Allawi, but she didn’t reveal further details.
Allawi was the interim Prime Minister prior toIraq’s 2005 legislative elections. He is prominent political activist who lived in exile for almost 30 years.
