Ukraine seeks strong ties with Kurdistan region
Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostyantyn Gryshchenko accompanied by a delegation of several Ukrainian lawmakers and businessmen met on Thursday with KRG Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani in Erbil, hoping strong economic ties with Kurdistan region.
Barzani and Gryshchenko highlighted the bilateral ties as the latter showed his government’s interest in cooperating with the region in economic infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, energy, science, gas and oil fields.
The Foreign Minister presented a briefed document on the Ukrainian firm’s activities and investments in the region over the past few years, hoping for further expanding the economic relations.
He also said that they have assets and specialists ready to come to Kurdistan and start working in different fields necessary to the rapid-developing region.
Kurdistan region has attracted the world’s companies into the region after the fall of Ba’ath regime in 2003 as it is the most stable part of Iraq along with its richness in natural resources such as gas and oil.
