Ceremony held to mark 66th Anniversary of Mahabad Republic establishment
Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani, Dr. Barham Ahmed Salih , members of Kurdistan Region Parliament, politicians, officials intellectuals, historians, students at history departments in Kurdistan Region universities attended the event.
the ceremony was inaugurated by singing Kurdish national anthem “ Ey Reqib” , then President Masoud Barzani gave a speech on the occasion, where he stressed the necessity to protect the Kurdish people rights and experiment .
Nawzad Hadi Erbil Governor , in a speech on behalf of President Jalal Talabani , congratulated the Kurdish people on the occasion, and stressed importance of the Kurdish people Unity in determining its own destiny.
Dr. Barham Ahmed Salih , in his speech, stressed importance of Mahabad Republic for the Kurdish people , pointing out to the necessity of the Kurds Unity in confronting their enemies’ plans .
