I am closely monitoring the situation of the striking teachers and employees who have been on hunger strike in Sulaimani for several days, demanding a solution to the salary problem. The resolution of the issues surrounding salaries and financial entitlements in the Kurdistan Region constitutes a valid request, which has our collective support.

To achieve this objective, we, in the Presidency and the Kurdistan Regional Government, have exerted significant efforts in collaboration with the Federal Government. In this context, fortunately, following discussions and mutual understanding between the two parties, along with the collaboration of the relevant stakeholders, the amendment to the federal budget law has been approved. We are optimistic about reaching a conclusive resolution to the matter of salaries and financial entitlements for the Kurdistan Region.

The concerns and requests of the teachers and employees have been communicated to the relevant authorities. Therefore, I urge them to consider their health and end their strike. We assure all parties that the Kurdistan Region will persist in its endeavors to address all matters with the Iraqi Federal Government.
