President Nechirvan Barzani met with Sheikh Madeh Sheikh Osman Naqshbandi of Biara, who serves as the Custodian of the Schools and Monasteries of His Eminence Sheikh Osman Sirajuddin of Biara, and a delegation that included several educators and religious scholars.

During the discussion, President Nechirvan Barzani welcomed their decision to return to Kurdistan and extended his best wishes for their endeavors. He emphasized the vital role that religious scholars play in fostering a culture of moderation, describing this as a significant message and a valuable contribution to society. He reiterated the unwavering support of the Kurdistan Region and its institutions for promoting tolerance and moderation.

The meeting, which also included the Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs, Mr. Pishtiwan Sadiq, and the Governor of Erbil, Mr. Omed Khoshnaw, highlighted the need to promote the principles of coexistence, mutual respect, and tolerance among the diverse communities within the Kurdistan Region. Both parties recognised the essential and positive role of religious educators in advocating for moderation and in combating extremism and violence.
