President Nechirvan Barzani was pleased to welcome Monday the incoming Spanish Ambassador to Iraq, Ms. Alicia Rico Pérez del Pulgar. In doing so, the President highlighted the complete support he extends to Ambassador Pérez del Pulgar’s work and Mission, while underscoring the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to developing its already strong relations with Spain.

Ms. Pérez del Pulgar in turn spoke of the great significance her country places on its relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The Ambassador mentioned in particular their commitment to upgrading cooperation in various sectors to the next level.

During the audience, several key topics were discussed, notably the recent successful elections to the Kurdistan Regional Parliament; the dynamics of Erbil-Baghdad relations; and key recent developments in the wider Middle East.
