KRG Prime Minister Welcomes New UN Special Representative to Iraq
Erbil, Iraq – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani officially welcomed Dr. Mohamed Al Hassan, the newly appointed Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) for Iraq and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI). In a meeting between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and UNAMI, PM Barzani expressed the KRG's commitment to cooperating with the United Nations, particularly concerning the upcoming elections in the Kurdistan Region.
"We are pleased to welcome Dr. Mohamed Al Hassan to Iraq and look forward to working closely with UNAMI on several initiatives, including ensuring that elections in the Kurdistan Region are free, fair, and credible," stated Barzani.
