Barzani Charity Foundation Launches

Erbil, Kurdistan Region – In a significant event attended by the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, the Barzani Charity Foundation announced the launch of the "Platform of Hope and Smile" on Sunday. This initiative aims to spotlight the foundation's various activities and projects focused on children.

The ceremony included the distribution of 540 housing units to families of martyrs, demonstrating the foundation's commitment to supporting those who have sacrificed for their country.

Founded in 2005 in Erbil, the Barzani Charity Foundation is a non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit organization. It was established under the guiding principle of Mustafa Barzani's enduring motto: "It is a pride to be a servant of the homeland."

Over the years, the foundation has received work permits from both the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government, as well as a work permit in the United States in 2016. In April 2016, it became an advisory member of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) during a United Nations Executive and Coordinating Council meeting.

In April 2020, the Barzani Charity Foundation was officially licensed by the British Charity Commission and recognized as a charitable organization by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2016.

The foundation's humanitarian efforts extend beyond the borders of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, having provided aid in various countries, including Turkey, Syria, Serbia, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Yemen, South Sudan, and more.

In early 2023, the Barzani Charity Foundation achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification, underscoring its dedication to enhancing services in administrative and charitable activities.

This launch marks a pivotal moment in the foundation's ongoing mission to uplift and support vulnerable communities, especially children, across the region and beyond.
