President Masoud Barzani Extends Congratulations to Yezidi Community on Jema Festival
On the occasion of the Jema festival, Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), sent a message of congratulations to the Yezidi community, extending his best wishes to Yezidis in Kurdistan and around the world.
In his message, Barzani expressed solidarity with the Yezidi people, emphasizing that their pain and suffering are shared by all Kurds. He stressed the importance of removing all obstacles that hinder the return of normal life for Yezidis, particularly in the Sinjar region, which has faced significant instability in recent years.
"The wounds and pain of our Yezidi sisters and brothers are the wounds and pain of all the people of Kurdistan, as we share in both their tragedies and joys," Barzani said. He called for urgent efforts to restore peace and stability to Sinjar, enabling Yezidis to return to their homes and live in safety.
Barzani also reaffirmed the importance of promoting a culture of coexistence in the Kurdistan Region, expressing his hope that Yezidis can celebrate their holidays in peace, happiness, and harmony.
The message comes as Yezidis celebrate the Jema festival, a significant religious occasion, and reflects Barzani's continued commitment to the rights and welfare of the Yezidi community.
