KRG Completes Strategic Road Project Between Erbil and Duhok
The Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) ninth cabinet has successfully completed a strategic road project that has significantly improved the safety and convenience of travel between Erbil and Duhok, easing long-standing concerns for drivers.
The newly constructed road, which stretches over 86 kilometers, now allows for faster and safer journeys. It features modern infrastructure, including multiple overpasses and U-turns, and is more than 11 meters wide on each side, providing ample space for traffic. The project, which cost 399 billion dinars, was hailed as a major development in the region’s transportation network.
“In the past, we could not travel easily due to the poor condition of the road, but now we can travel safely and in less time thanks to the services of the ninth cabinet,” said a local driver.
Despite ongoing economic and political pressures, the ninth cabinet of the KRG has continued to prioritize essential services for citizens, with the new road being a key example of its commitment to regional development. This project is expected to further enhance connectivity and economic activity between Erbil and Duhok.
