Ninth Cabinet Prioritizes Road Development with Over 1,900 Projects Across Kurdistan

Erbil, Kurdistan Region — The ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government has placed significant emphasis on the development and renovation of local streets in cities and towns, aiming to improve infrastructure and facilitate the movement of citizens.

Under this cabinet, a total of 1,967 road construction and renovation projects have been initiated, with an investment of 1 trillion 863 billion Iraqi dinars. Many of these projects are considered strategic, including the prominent 150-meter road in Erbil, the 100-meter road in Sulaimani, and the Barzan road in Duhok.

To date, 926 road projects have been fully completed, while another 1,410 projects are currently under implementation. In addition to new initiatives, the ninth cabinet has allocated funds to complete 44 medium and strategic projects that were left unfinished by previous administrations, with 13 of these now finalized.

These road projects are expected to significantly improve convenience for citizens and enhance the overall aesthetic of cities across the region.
