The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Council of Ministers has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region, scheduled for October 20, 2024.

In an official letter signed by KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers instructed all ministries and government institutions to provide full logistical support for the elections. The letter emphasized the need for collaboration with the Iraqi Independent High Election Commission (IHEC) to ensure a smooth electoral process.

During a recent joint meeting between the KRG and the IHEC, it was agreed that all ministries would facilitate preparations for the elections. The Council stressed the importance of holding fair elections in a peaceful and secure environment.

The Ministry of Education was specifically tasked with preparing school buildings for use as voting centers one week before the elections, while ensuring the protection of school property and equipment.

The KRG Council of Ministers reiterated its commitment to supporting the success of the electoral process and ensuring the elections are conducted in a transparent and fair manner.
