KRG Education Minister Announces Opening of 194 New School Buildings by October
Erbil, Kurdistan Region – The Minister of Education in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Alan Hama Saeed, announced that 194 new school buildings will be operational by October, marking a significant expansion in the region's educational infrastructure.
Over the past years, 152 of these buildings have already been completed and put into service under the current ninth cabinet. The Minister highlighted that the new facilities were constructed through the KRG's budget, investment projects, and contributions from both local and international donors.
Minister Hama Saeed emphasized that the expansion has allowed the region to accommodate more than 100,000 additional students in public schools, addressing the growing demand for education.
In a related announcement, the Minister revealed that 42 new buildings for kindergartens and primary students are scheduled to be opened in September and October, further enhancing the region's educational capacity.
This development reflects the KRG's ongoing commitment to improving educational access and quality across the Kurdistan Region.
