Completion of Shawger Dam Highlights Ninth Cabinet's Commitment to Water Management

The ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has successfully completed the Shawger Dam, a significant infrastructure project designed to enhance water management and support agricultural activities in the region. The dam, with a height of 30 meters and a capacity of 2 million cubic meters, marks a critical step forward in the government's efforts to bolster water resources.

As of now, the Shawger Dam has successfully recharged 1.5 million cubic meters of water, underscoring its vital role in water conservation. Spanning an area of 230,000 square meters, the dam is strategically utilized for livestock, groundwater protection, and irrigation, providing essential resources to local communities.

The Shawger Dam is one of several projects completed under the ninth cabinet, with the total water absorption capacity of these dams exceeding 150 million cubic meters. These dams are instrumental in protecting groundwater, revitalizing the tourism sector, supporting agriculture, assisting livestock farmers, rebuilding villages, and ensuring the provision of clean water across the region.

The completion of the Shawger Dam not only highlights the KRG's dedication to sustainable development but also reaffirms its commitment to improving the quality of life for the people of Kurdistan through strategic infrastructure projects.
