On Monday afternoon, President Nechirvan Barzani received Jaco Beerends, the Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Kurdistan Region, during a farewell visit as Mr. Beerends concludes his term in office.

President Nechirvan Barzani conveyed his appreciation for the contributions made by Consul General Beerends during his tenure in the Kurdistan Region. He acknowledged the Consul General’s efforts in strengthening the ties between the Netherlands and the Kurdistan Region and extended his best wishes for Mr. Beerends’ continued success in his future endeavors.

Mr. Beerends, in turn, extended his gratitude to the President for the cooperation and support provided by all relevant authorities in the Region. He reiterated the Netherlands’ commitment to further enhancing cooperation and fostering relations with the Kurdistan Region across a range of sectors.

The meeting also touched on the upcoming Kurdistan parliamentary elections. President Nechirvan Barzani underscored the importance of ensuring a smooth and successful electoral process. The Dutch Consul General commended the President for his commitment to facilitating a successful electoral process.
