Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Inaugurates Ranya-Bangird Bridge in Kurdistan Region

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani officially inaugurated the Ranya-Bangird bridge in the Raperin Administration during a special ceremony on Monday. The newly constructed bridge is set to enhance connectivity and bolster economic activities in the region.

In his speech, Prime Minister Barzani highlighted the government's efforts to support infrastructure development despite facing financial challenges and various crises over the past few years. "This important project will certainly bring great benefits to the people of this region and connect Pishder, Bitwen, and Marga. It will be useful for transporting farmers' crops in the region and will help develop the tourism sector as well," stated Barzani.

The Prime Minister expressed pride in the fact that the project was fully executed using local capabilities. "Fortunately, today we are witnessing that local capacities in the field of road construction have developed and the quality of roads and bridges has improved significantly, which will have an impact on protecting the lives of citizens and improving economic infrastructure," he noted.

Barzani also emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing the road network across all regions of Kurdistan. He pointed out that with an improved financial situation, the government plans to further develop the road infrastructure to meet international standards. "The people of this region, like other parts of Kurdistan, have made great sacrifices for freedom and national achievements, so they deserve more service," he added.

The Prime Minister reiterated the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) efforts over the past four years to carry out various projects within its financial capacity and pledged continued service to the people.

Moreover, Barzani addressed the region's economic diversification strategy, highlighting initiatives to reduce reliance on oil revenues by promoting agriculture, tourism, and industry sectors. "The Kurdistan Region has tried to resolve its issues with the Iraqi federal government on the basis of the constitution and agreements between us, to provide our constitutional rights and financial entitlements and serve the people of Kurdistan," he said.

He further mentioned ongoing negotiations with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani to overcome obstacles and enhance cooperation. "I'm in constant contact with [Iraqi PM] Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, and the negotiating delegations continue to remove obstacles. We believe that together, on the basis of the constitution and the public interest of citizens, the wealth of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, we can use the services and enhance the economic position of Iraq and the region," Barzani concluded.

The inauguration of the Ranya-Bangird bridge marks a significant step in the development of the Kurdistan Region's infrastructure, promising to bring economic and social benefits to its residents.
