Three Soldiers Killed in Mine Explosion at Border Guard Command Zone 1

In a tragic turn of events today, three soldiers lost their lives when a mine exploded within the engineering unit of the border guard command in Zone 1, near Kani Qarzhala. The incident, which occurred at approximately 11:30 am local time, has sent shockwaves through the region.

According to Sami Ismail, the spokesman for the Border Guard Command, two soldiers, identified as Abdulkarim Jalal and Massoud Ali, were fatally wounded in the blast. 

Further adding to the somber atmosphere, Rizgar Majid, another soldier injured in the explosion, unfortunately succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital. 

The Border Guard Command Zone 1, situated near Kani Qarzhala area in Erbil, is grappling with the aftermath of this tragic incident. As authorities initiate investigations, questions naturally arise regarding the circumstances leading to the detonation of the mine and the effectiveness of existing safety protocols.
