On Tuesday 27 February 2024, Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, engaged in discussions with Senator Jack Reed, Chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and Senator Roger Wicker, a committee member.

Their talks underscored the mutual commitment to maintaining peace, security, and stability in the Kurdistan Region. The pivotal role of ongoing United States and international coalition support for the Peshmerga forces was also highlighted.

Prime Minister Barzani thanked the United States for its steadfast support and underscored the importance of acknowledging the Kurdistan Region's constitutional and federal status within Iraq.

Chairman Reed commended the resilience and sacrifices of the Peshmerga forces and the Kurdish people, recognising their significant contributions.
