World Leaders Extend Condolences to President Masoud Barzani Following Sister's Passing

The global community has rallied to express condolences to Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), and his family following the recent passing of his sister, Zakia Mustafa Barzani, on Friday.

King Abdullah II of Jordan reached out personally to Barzani on Saturday, extending his heartfelt sympathies and offering condolences in the wake of his sister's demise.

In a statement, Alina L. Romanowski, the US Ambassador to Iraq, conveyed the condolences of the United States to Barzani's family and the people of the Kurdistan Region, expressing profound sorrow over the loss.

Additionally, the US Consulate General in Erbil echoed these sentiments, offering its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Kurdistan, recognizing the challenges they are confronting during this trying time.

Similarly, the British Consulate General in Erbil joined the international chorus of support, extending sincere condolences to Barzani and his family as they mourn the loss of Zakia Mustafa Barzani.

Mazloum Abdi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), also conveyed his sadness and condolences to Masoud Barzani. In a message of condolence, Abdi expressed heartfelt sympathies, acknowledging the profound loss experienced by the Barzani family.
