In a significant development, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, is poised to headline the delegation from the region at the 2024 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. The event, scheduled from January 15 to 19, will bring together global leaders and key stakeholders to discuss pressing economic issues and potential solutions.

Joining PM Barzani in representing Iraq will be Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, marking a concerted effort to showcase the economic potential and collaborative opportunities within the region.

Last year, Prime Minister Barzani participated in the Davos Forum, where he engaged in discussions on a wide range of topics, including economic diversification, banking services improvement, exploration of new markets for agricultural produce, and investments in renewable energy, oil, gas, and minerals. The discussions also delved into addressing the challenges posed by climate change and drought.

Building on the success of the previous year, the Kurdish delegation aims to leverage the platform of the Kurdish House initiative to actively promote investment and advocate for economic prosperity not only within the Kurdistan Region but for Iraq as a whole.

The Kurdish House in Davos, a central investment hub, is set to play a pivotal role in fostering international relations, facilitating trade, and establishing the foundation for enhanced developmental opportunities across the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, according to a press release from the Kurdish House.

Furthermore, the Kurdish House in Davos seeks to highlight the untapped potential and cultural richness of the Kurdistan Region. With a commitment to contributing to vibrant discussions and collaborations at the World Economic Forum, the Kurdish House expresses eagerness to showcase the region's immense potential and hospitable spirit.

As the global community looks towards Davos for crucial dialogues on economic development, trade, and international cooperation, the Kurdish delegation aims to position the Kurdistan Region as a key player in fostering economic growth and stability on both regional and global scales.
