President Masoud Barzani Extends Congratulations to Dr. Ali Qaradaghi on his Election as Head of the World Union of Muslim Scholars
Today, Wednesday, President Masoud Barzani conveyed his sincere congratulations to Dr. Ali Qaradaghi on his election as the President of the World Union of Muslim Scholars.
Through a phone call, President Barzani expressed his best wishes to the newly elected head of the World Union of Muslim Scholars, hoping for his success in his new role.
On January 8th of the current year, Dr. Ali Qaradaghi secured the position of President of the World Union of Muslim Scholars with an overwhelming majority, receiving 91.51 percent of the votes. The election, attended by 651 scholars from various countries, took place in the Sheraton Doha Hotel. The voting encompassed the selection of a new president, vice presidents, and members of the Board of Trustees.
The sixth session of the General Assembly of the World Union of Muslim Scholars commenced on Saturday, January 6, 2024, and is scheduled to continue until Thursday, January 11.
In a post on his official account on the "Ex" platform, Dr. Qaradaghi stated, "After free elections conducted with transparent voting, I have been elected as the President of the World Union of Muslim Scholars." He added, "I pledge to Allah Almighty and, consequently, to the Islamic nation, to remain faithful to my religion and to work tirelessly to convey the message of Allah with wisdom and in accordance with the balanced understanding."
