In a recent development, the Turkish defense ministry announced on Tuesday that it had conducted airstrikes on what it claimed were a dozen positions belonging to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the bordering areas of the Kurdistan Region. The Turkish Ministry of Defense stated that these operations targeted alleged PKK strongholds on Mount Gara and Mount Qandil, with the objective of neutralizing members of the Kurdish group.
