Turkish Drone Strike Targets PKK Fighters in Sulaymaniyah Province
In a targeted drone attack on Monday, the Turkish military struck a vehicle in Sulaymaniyah province, resulting in the loss of two Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) fighters, with two others sustaining injuries. The incident occurred in Boskeni village near the district of Ranya at approximately 11:15 a.m. local time.
Social media footage has emerged, depicting the aftermath of the strike, showing the bodies of the deceased and injured individuals strewn across the street.
The presence of the PKK in the Kurdistan Region has led to a series of civilian casualties, widespread displacement of communities, and the abandonment of numerous mountain resorts, as well as thousands of acres of agriculturally productive land.
Just last week, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense declared that their forces had "neutralized" a minimum of 1,715 PKK members in both the Kurdistan Region and neighboring Syria throughout the year.
This Saturday, the National Defense Ministry of Turkey reported the successful destruction of at least 15 targets associated with the Kurdistan Workers' Party within the Kurdistan Region.
