President Barzani Receives Romanian Parliament Delegation

President Masoud Barzani welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Romanian Parliament today, led by Senator Titos Kurlatsian, Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee. The meeting, held in Salahaddin, served as a platform to strengthen diplomatic ties and discuss various issues of mutual interest.

In attendance was Mr. Radu-Octavian Dobre, the Romanian Ambassador to Iraq, adding significance to the high-level talks.

Senator Kurlatsian, on behalf of the Romanian Parliament, commended President Barzani's pivotal role in the Kurdistan liberation movement. He emphasized Romania's commitment to fostering strong relations with both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The senator called for the expansion of ties between Romania and the Kurdistan Region, particularly in areas such as culture, economy, investment, and the private sector.

While ISIS has been defeated militarily, he noted that the root causes behind its emergence and strengthening still exist. Consequently, he stressed the need to maintain international coalition efforts to combat and eradicate terrorism, highlighting the importance of this issue in global politics.

The discussion also delved into the current political situation in Iraq and the broader region, as well as the obstacles and challenges affecting stability worldwide.
