Today, on Saturday, September 16, 2023, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, received the British Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hitchens.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the disputed issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, especially concerning the securing of constitutional rights for the region's citizens. They also emphasized that the recent high-level delegation visit of the Kurdistan Regional Government to Baghdad last week and the negotiations held with the three presidencies and Iraqi political parties regarding securing the region's financial rights are considered a positive step towards resolving the ongoing issues between the two sides.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of protecting security and stability in the Kurdistan Region.
